Where it gets interesting
Red gum is a domestic tree, common in the southern US. The heartwood ranges in color from pink, red and brown tones with deep brown stripes. It is valued for its irregular grain, fine texture, contrasting colors, and soft silky luster. Its large logs make it well suited for large-scale projects. Once a favorite choice for radio cabinets.
