Where it gets interesting
This African relative of rosewood features a deep brown background with dark brown to ebony streaking. It is increasingly used as a more affordable substitute for walnut outside Africa. This intense and strongly veined material is most valued for high-end architectural use, and its tonal qualities also make it prized for musical instruments.
