Where it gets interesting
Sen is a Japanese ash ranging from pale khaki-gray to near white, commonly used for furniture and interiors. Quarter cut shows a straight fine grain, while flat cut reveals a cathedral pattern. When figured with pommele grain, it is called tamo. Sen is a highly versatile material that works well across a wide range of design styles.
