Where it gets interesting
While most hickory is cut for lumber due to its strength and density, but has become increasingly available as veneer. It features strong contrast between reddish heartwood and lighter beige sapwood, with a coarse and porous texture. It is the quintessential domestic wood—lively in appearance and rich in American woodworking tradition.
