Kansas City
Lathrop & Gage’s renovated law offices in Kansas City pay homage to the timeless style of the building’s architect, Mies van der Rohe. Flat-cut, book-matched Santos Rosewood veneer is the hub of a classically modern materials palette that also includes glass, travertine, and bronze. The book-matched Rosewood creates an organic landscape that feels as though you’re walking through the log as you move through the space and it holds its own against the dramatic 360-degree city view. Project architects specified fiddleback-figured Sycamore for the firm’s mock courtrooms, creating a lighter more textural palette that plays off the dominant Rosewood.
"I appreciate that we can set our design criteria, tell Dooge what we want to achieve, and know they'll do a good job understanding our needs and finding exactly the right materials for the project."
