Grand Rapids
This four-star hotel on the banks of the Grand River uses a cosmopolitan fusion of metal and glass, alongside an abundance of wood in homage to Grand Rapids’ legacy in wood furniture craft. Almost every bit of millwork in this luxury hotel—walls, doors, woodwork, even headboards and credenzas in guest rooms—was crafted by local firms and clad in more than 160,000 square feet of American Cherry. Throughout the public and private spaces of this high-rise hotel, the use of Cherry offers cordial warmth against the steely reflections of the river below.
