Washington, D.C.
Foley Hoag's law office in Washington, D.C., features beautifully figured Sycamore, custom stained for a warmer tone, and used liberally on walls and cabinets throughout the space. The lighter walls are contrasted with a rich, rare, deep brown, Thuya Burl with a lively swirling grain. The small leaves of burl veneer were expertly book-and-butt matched in a striking center-balanced pattern for use on the reception desk and long, dual-sided, millwork credenza that flanks the desk and extends into adjacent conference rooms.
"We count on Dooge to be aware of all the options and challenges in veneer—to understand the color, price, lengths, and sizes we need, and to be sure what they're representing is on hand. It really gives us comfort knowing that all the considerations have been thought through in the beginning—so we can avoid problems down the line."
