Billowing Maple ceilings and warm Anegre-paneled walls soften the long, low, modern steel-and-glass structure of Canada’s first LEED-Certified airport terminal in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The building was designed to provide expansive views inside and out—creating a strong sense of space amid Manitoba’s expansive prairies, big sky, and distinctive landscape. Beneath the floating silver roof is an undulating Maple ceiling that replicates the feeling of rolling clouds overhead. The panelized ceiling system spans 53,000 square feet through the terminal using a random match that makes excellent use of the often-smaller maple veneer cuts. 

Lined with acoustic fabric, the maple ceiling system provides an added sound dampener in this busy international airport.
