Where it gets interesting
One of the world’s most prized veneers, it ranges from chocolate-brown to purple-black with contrasting cream sapwood. It features a variegated stripe and occasional bee’s wing figure, with flat cut producing a cathedral pattern. It is often used as a substitute for rare Rio rosewood.
