Where it gets interesting
The largest of the hemlocks, this species grows over 300 feet tall from the Rockies to the Pacific coast. It has a straight grain, tightly spaced growth rings, a somewhat coarse texture, and little distinction between heartwood and sapwood. It finishes well and can be stained in virtually any color, making it highly adaptable for interior projects.
